Here's the link to my latest Adult Activity and Coloring Pages.
This month I've included a Mandala activity. I have always enjoyed creating Mandala's, even as a kid I was, unbeknown to me...creating them. The activity that's included can be great for kids too. If you have a little one coming home who is having a tough time with classmates or friends, have them do this project right along with you and just see what happens. Another way to use this project is Instead of using someone you're struggling with you can write about an emotion you are having such as depression or anxiety. You can print out the Mandala outline as often as you like.
So why an art activity book for adults you might ask? Well first of all,
it's fun and who can't use a little more fun in their life? I have also
discovered that in creating images either with paint or pen, or just
journaling ideas, is a great for self-growth. There are lots of
self-help books out there that you may have read a few of, now instead
of just reading, you're going to put some of those thoughts into
creative action. You might be amazed at all the thoughts and feelings
that will come to surface from doing these activities. If you want,
journal these thoughts and see what happens.
For the Mandala and the coloring pages, if you can, print on card stock.
WARNING!!! Coloring and painting may cause feelings of happiness and joy!

FREE Activity Book For Adults!
I'm super excited to offer my first activity book for adults for the month of April. It includes activities for coloring, doodling, and journaling with a little nature thrown in. You can download it for free here.
When you print it out, you'll find some pages are for coloring. I would recommend printing on card stock for those pages if you have that available.
If you're like me, you probably have a few journals laying around the house. Dig them out -- they are going to come in handy.
I'll be creating a new activities booklets in the coming months with lots of ideas to get your creative juices flowing.

Allow yourself to be lost in the process of creating! It's an amazing space to be in. It's much like meditation. It's kind of like losing yourself so you can find yourself type of experience!

Why Adventure Therapy? And What It Could Do for YOU!
ad·ven·ture n.
- An undertaking or enterprise of a hazardous nature.
- An undertaking of a questionable nature, especially one involving intervention in another state's affairs.
- An unusual or exciting experience: an adventure in dining.
- Participation in hazardous or exciting experiences: the love of adventure.
- A financial speculation or business venture.
ther·a·py n. pl. ther·a·pies
- Treatment of illness or disability.
- Psychotherapy.
- Healing power or quality: the therapy of fresh air and sun.
The
thought behind Adventure Therapy For Women was quite simply a way to give a
woman the motivation to accomplish something larger than herself.
Who
Can Benefit From Adventure Therapy
- Stay-at-Home Moms
- Career Focused Women
- Mothers
- Senior Citizens
- Disabled
- Any Woman Who Is In Need Of A Little Adventure!
Believe
it or not, you can actually get sick holding yourself back and not allowing
your body/spirit to be pushed to it’s limit from time to time. In this instant
the word therapy isn’t being used as a term for psychotherapy, I’m in no way
qualified in that type of therapy.
The
type of therapy I’m talking about here is the kind you are really going to
allow yourself. It’s going to be more of a self-therapy type of program. You
are going to finally listen to your intuition, the need to interact more with
nature, to exercise your body more, to eat healthier and feel like you’re on
top of the world.
Let
me ask you this…
Do
you ever have….
- A lack of energy?
- Feel unhealthy in the since that you know you just aren’t taking care of yourself like you should? This could be because all the time you put in your career and or family and there just never is enough time for you?
- Are you unmotivated?
- Do you feel guilty thinking about doing something for yourself?
- Feel this need to do something…bigger than yourself, but don’t exactly know what that is?
- Do you have a need to get outside and be more apart of nature?
Women
are powerful creatures. There are so many incredible parts to us. We are the
caregiver, the mother, the partner, the career woman, the fundraiser, the
soccer mom and most importantly, we are a woman unto ourselves. However the
latter is often times is at the bottom of our to do list, or not on the list at
all.
Each
of us are different and have different needs. What your soul needs, probably
isn’t what your friend, mother or sister needs are. These needs are going
unfulfilled everyday. It’s all about everyone else and we don’t even have time
to think about ourselves. This type of thinking will slowly kill our soul and
make us sick.
Doing
little things in our lives, that are all about us, can completely change our
outlook on life. It can take you from feeling there is something missing in
your life (which there is) feeling lost, and unmotivated to feeling like you
have something to live for, to look forward to, to accomplish just for us.
Our
bodies want to be pushed occasionally. It has a need to sweat, for that heart
to beat nice and hard, and to experience a little fear or uncertainty isn’t a
bad thing. Our body begs for adventure and when we don’t give it that, we can
get sick mentally and physically.
What
type of personal adventure goal would you like to set for yourself? Is there
something in the back of your mind you’ve wanted to do but felt guilty, or
silly for pursuing? I can relate to this. I’ve written an article all about
this called, Big Red. You are not alone here. Whatever you do, don’t let those
feeling keep you from an incredible experience.
Is
there anything as horrible as starting on a trip? Once you’re off that’s all
right, but the last moments are earthquakes and convulsions, and the feeling
that you are a snail being pulled off your rock.
–
Ann
Morrow Lindbergh
The adventures that are pursued will be as different as there are women
out there. Here are some examples to get your brain rolling with your own
ideas.
·
Run a
Marathon/Triathlon
·
Go on a group women
adventure trips.
·
Learn to ride a
motorcycle.
·
Go on a solo trip in
our outside the country you live in.
·
Go to a grown-up
summer camp.
·
Train to climb a
mountain.
·
Go on a rafting trip.
·
Learn to fly an
airplane.
·
Hike the Appalachian
or Pacific Crest Trail. (Watch the Movie "Wild"
·
Get on a tennis team
(this could work for many different types of sports)
·
What is it for you?
Once you decide what your adventure is, you work towards it and
accomplishment you are going to become a brand new person. The way you think
about yourself is going to change. You will have something concrete to be proud
of yourself for. The more you love yourself, the more you can love your
partner, your family and your friends.
Don’t be surprised when the people who know you start to tell you they
see a change in you. You look happier and healthier. They are going to want to
know your secret. They are going to what to have whatever it is your getting.
Won’t they be surprised when they find out it simply setting aside time to
nurture and love yourself, because really, that’s all your doing.
WARNING: Once you accomplish your first adventure you will have a thirst
for many more adventures. This is a good
thing and your body will love you for it.
If you are in need of a coach for your adventure, let me know! I would love to work with you!! Email me at lyzzbiz@yahoo.com

What Addiction Looks Like
I feel this is probably the best depiction of addiction I've ever seen! Someone could write and write until they are blue in the face on addiction, sometimes pictures can cut right through it all and say it perfectly. This is an excellent example
If you're someone who feels addiction is holding you back from your true self get help today. A great place to start is Alcoholics Anonymous
If you know someone who is struggling with addictions and is hindering you from living your true self visit your local Alanon Chapter. They have support groups for adults as well as teens!

What does your pain mean?
Saw this today and I have to say I have always been intrigued by pain, disease etc in my body can be associated with emotions etc in my life.
Then that got me to thinking about Louise Hay's work in this area. She has a huge list of maladies that you might experience, what is happening in your life to cause this and then an affirmation to change the energy around the issue.
This blog does a great job detailing this information. Check it out! It's pretty cool!

Creating during those long winter months.
Came across two excellent articles on creating. The first is perfect for the time of year. The author Heidi Spitzig, is someone I became aquanted with while in my masters program. Her article is all about creating in those long dark and cold winter months.
Here's another great read!!
